McDonald police chief found dead
McDONALD -- Police Chief Alan R. DeLuga was found dead Friday in his home.
The Trumbull County Coroner's Office said there was no apparent sign of foul play, and an autopsy will be performed today at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
The coroner's office said DeLuga, 51, had had medical problems, but could not be specific.
Trumbull County 911 Center received a call at 1:11 p.m. that DeLuga was found in the bathtub. The coroner was notified shortly after 1:30 p.m.
DeLuga was appointed to the chief's job by city council in July 2001, replacing chief Dan Leskovac, who retired in November 2000.
DeLuga was a 24-year veteran of the police force and a lifelong resident of the village.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
