Man found dead after missing work

AUSTINTOWN -- Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in his apartment after he failed to report for work.
John Carrozzino, 51, of Calloway Circle was found dead in his apartment by police Tuesday after co-workers asked that he be checked on. Carrozzino was on vacation beginning May 23, but failed to report for work or call off Tuesday, reports said.
After a building manager let officers into the apartment, police found his clothed body on the floor in a loft bedroom with a television set on. There was no bed in the room, and very few furnishings in the rest of the residence, according to police. Preliminary reports say he had been dead for five days or more.
There were no signs of trauma or foul play, but the body was transported to Forum Health South Side Medical Center, where the coroner's office was expected to conduct an autopsy today.
