CLASS B LEAGUE Propane extends winning streak; Becdir snaps slide



YSU recruit Kevin Libeg had a six-hitter in Line Drive's win over Livi and Rondinelli had 20 hits against Roth.
STRUTHERS -- Youngstown Propane beat Lazart, 9-5, Tuesday in Class B League action for its seventh straight win.
Becdir scored four runs in the bottom half of the seventh inning to beat Riordan's, 5-4, to break a three-game losing streak and improve to 4-3.
Kevin Libeg scattered six hits, striking out 10 as Line Drive beat Livi Steel, 6-0, to take over sole possession of second place. Livi stranded 11 men in the contest on the bases and left the bases loaded in the seventh inning.
Propane 9, Lazart 5: Chris Russo led off the game with a home run and Jared Bogan had a three-run shot in the fourth inning as Youngstown Propane remained undefeated.
Bogan also had a sacrifice fly and finished the game on the mound in relief of Gary Hinkson who got the win.
Todd Kubacki had a double and two runs batted in for Lazart which fell to 1-6.
Becdir 5, Riordan's 4: Mike Bashline hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give Riordan's a 4-1 lead before Becdir rallied.
Bashline also had a single for Riordan's (3-4) while teammate Joe O'Hara had two hits, one a double. Brian Hanolt struck out seven in six-plus innings for Riordan's but wasn't the loser. For Becdir, the leadoff man reached on a error in the seventh and John Scullio had a double to drive home a run.
After a single by D.J. Fahndrich put runners on first and third, the next two batters were retired.
Matt Bradley plated one run with a single and left runners at first and third. After Bradley stole second, both runners scored on John Shaffo's hit to right field.
Gary Boris had two hits, one a double for Becdir, while Mike Rhoten pitched a complete game, striking out 10. Only two of the four runs allowed by Rhoten were earned as Becdir had six errors in the contest.
Line Drive Academy 6, Livi Steel 0: Line Drive got only five hits, but four of them were for extra bases as it took over sole possession of second place with a 6-0 shutout.
Kevin Libeg scattered six hits, striking out 10 for the win for Line Drive (5-2). Vasili Pahoulis had a double and a triple with three RBIs for Line Drive. Phil Butch and Nick Guerrieri had two hits each for Livi (4-3).
Livi stranded 11 men in the contest, leaving the bases loaded in the seventh inning.
Rondinelli 20, Roth Bros. 10: Dean Palombaro had six runs batted in and Jason King had four hits and knocked in three runs to lead the 20-hit attack for Rondinelli.
Every Rondinelli (4-3) starter had at least two hits.
King also pitched three innings of three-hit relief, giving up two unearned runs to get the victory
Steve Ripple had two doubles and two runs batted in to pace Roth, which used six different pitchers before falling to 2-5.
Yo. Express 22, Astro Falcons 5: The Express scored 14 runs as 18 men came to the plate in the top of the first inning against Astros (3-4).
Express had 10 hits in the first frame as it got its second win of the year in seven starts.
Mike Turjanica hit a grand slam in the fourth and Kevin Koloniar added a solo shot in the seventh for Express.
Every Express starter had at least one hit.
