Boardman cop is put on leave

BOARDMAN -- A member of the Boardman Police Department has been placed on administrative leave with pay after a Youngstown woman reported she was abducted early Sunday from a local restaurant.
Carrie Eckert, 25, of North Belle Vista Avenue, told police a man restrained her against her will and left with her in his vehicle from the Ground Round restaurant, 7463 South Ave.
Police Chief Jeffrey L. Patterson did not release the name of the officer who has been put on leave. No charges have been filed.
Patterson said separate criminal and administrative investigations are under way and that administrative leave is a standard procedure under the circumstances.
The findings of the criminal investigation will be reviewed with the county prosecutor, and the findings of the administrative investigation will be reviewed with Patterson.
