Babe Ruth (14-15s)
Sluggers 5, Commercial Neon 2 -- Tyler Stanley, Calvin Clayton, and Josh McKenney combined to pitch a one-hitter. Jim Gromada had a two-run single for Sluggers. Dave Piersante turned an unassisted triple play. Joe Fox had Neon's lone hit.
Astros 7, ESK 6 -- Matt Bable pitched a complete game win. Mike Welce, Bill Sattler and JR Miller all had doubles. Fred Weidinthal singled twice and walked to produce three RBIs.
Line Drive 5, Central Optical 1 -- Brian Daugherty, Marc Rossi and Grant Sevek each had two RBIs. Mike Bartos pitched five innings for the win and David Patrick earned the save.
Line Drive 9 Central Optical 8 -- Andy Todor and Brett Dutton had two hits and Brian Daugherty pitched the win. Grant Sevek came in to close the game for Line Drive.
Storm 8, Campbell 4.
Central Optical 11, Lawrence County Cougars 13's 10 -- Dan Babyak, Anthony Porter and Brennan Meenachan all had two hits for Central.
Commercial Neon 11, Astros 6 -- Dan Balog pitched the win and added two hits. Brian Mellott had three doubles, and Tom Ivany chipped in with two hits.
Sluggers 5, Campbell 2 -- Aaron Pollack fired a complete game two-hitter. Tyler Stanley singled and tripled, while Lou Kopachy, Bryan Boyce and Pollack all doubled.
Babe Ruth (13s)
ESK 8, Convenient 4 -- Joe Morales, Tony Brunetti and Frank Rosselli each had two hits for Kiwanis.
ESK 9, Line Drive 8 -- Joe Morales, Tony Brunetti and Mike Olenych combined to scatter seven hits. For Line Drive, Frank LaRubbio had three hits.
Lawrence County Cougars 16, Convenient 2 -- Mark Butler and Matt Germanski combined on a three-hitter. Ryan Forbes had two hits.
Tri-T PONY
Salem VFW 14, Columbiana Sports Scene 4 -- Trevin Wood struck out nine and allowed four runs over four innings before Kent Paulini finished up. Corey Rickman and Gregg Shadle went 3-for-3, while Josh Dankovich also had three hits, including two doubles. Ryan Donlon had two hits. For Columbiana, Tyler Souder knocked in three runs, with an inside-the-park home run.
Canfield Robert Senn 8, Boardman G.F. Insulation 2 -- Jonathan Bastian had two hits and two stolen bases and he pitched four shutout innings. Paul Sabol had a single and double and Marek Slipski stole three bases.
Struthers Accordia Insurance 10, Niles Shultz Service Center 3 -- Mike Galletta got the win with relief by Jake Leko and Marc Peluso. Galletta, Peluso, Dennis Walton, Nathan Zappia and Kevin Stout had two hits apiece including Peluso's three-run homer. Mark Mehley had a double.
Struthers Accordia Insurance 10, Poland David's Heating 6 -- Marc Peluso got the win with relief by Jake Leko, who added three hits, including a double. Alex Sanchez, Mark Mehley and Mike Catrone each had two hits. Mike Galletta had a three-run homer for Accordia. Chris Moore and Ray Bosax had three hits and Cory Gruele added two hits in a losing effort.
Struthers Gridiron 3, Salem Eljer 2 -- Jim Matricardi scattered three hits to pick up the win. Adam Wilajs hit a triple and Mike Dupanty followed with a home run. Matricardi singled, stole second and third and scored on Dave Kriebel's bunt in the bottom of the seventh. Ben Miller homered for Salem.
Tri-T Colt
Austintown Home Depot 13, Struthers Legal Daily News 11 -- Brandon Polish was the winning pitcher. Dan Gerberry homered twice and had five RBIs. Reid Rouser also homered.
Struthers Daily Legal News 12, Salem Parker Hunter 0 -- Mike Dubos pitched a three-hitter with four strikeouts. Jon Neider went 3-for-3 with a home run. Chris Broderick had two hits, including a triple. Frank Speziale had two hits.
SOFTBALL
Ohio Magic -- 16 & amp; Under team was eliminated by the Invasion 9-1 in the Mahoning Valley Umpires Association tournament. Alyssa Calautti had a triple and RBI and Holly Holman singled for Magic.
