E.T. Whitakerwins by decision
PITTSBURGH -- Warren light-heavyweight E.T. Whitaker raised his record to 26-5 with an eight-round unanimous decision over Roger Bowden of Cincinnati at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center Saturday night.
Bowden dropped to 12-6-1.
Whitaker, who has won 15 of his bouts by knockout, will fight Tony "The Tiger" Hanshaw at the Canton Civic Center on July 16 on ESPN 2.
Whitaker is trained by Frank West and managed by Pat Nelson.

It was incorrectly reported in Sunday's editions that Austintown Five was team event winners in the YBA City Tournament.
Actually, Austintown Five was the Handicap Award winners.
Every Extreme was the Tournament Actual and Handicap Team winners.

Fusion win 14-3
BEDFORD -- Youngstown native Shannon Anderson caught a two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter, and Niles resident Lori Johnson had three receptions for 31 yards, as the Cleveland Fusion defeated the Detroit Danger 14-3 in a National Women's Football League game Saturday.
The game was completed after being suspended May 25 in the third period with Detroit ahead 3-0.
Lisa Heinl scored on an 80-yard run for the Fusion, then Christine Skiles scored on a 1-yard run before Anderson's conversion.
Aeros lose 9-3
AKRON -- Luis Garcia and Kevin Nicholson each drove in two runs to lead the New Haven Ravens to a 9-3 win Sunday over the Akron Aeros.
Covelli Crisp opened the game with a double and later scored from third on a throwing error. Garcia added a two-run double in the first inning.
Crisp, who had three hits, drove in a run in the second to give New Haven a 4-0 lead. Akron's Corey Erickson responded in the bottom of the inning with an RBI double.
The Ravens added three in the fifth on three hits, including Nicholson's two-run single, to chase Jamie Brown (0-1).
Crew loses 5-4
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Carlos Bocanegra scored on a header in the 80th minute to give the Chicago Fire a 5-4 victory over the Columbus Crew on Sunday night.
Standing inside the 6-yard box, Bocanegra headed Peter Nowak's free kick past Crew goalkeeper Tom Presthus for the winning goal.
Ante Razov and Amos Magee each scored twice for the Fire, and Jeff Cunningham had two goals for the Crew.
The victory was Chicago's first at its new home this season, and the Fire (5-3-2) remains atop the Eastern Conference, six points ahead of second-place Columbus (3-5-2).

CLIFTON, N.J. -- James Mason, a 51-year-old teaching pro from Dillard, Ga., who had to qualify for the tournament, shot a 3-under 69 to win the NFL Golf Classic by two strokes.
Mason made an eagle with an iron from the second fairway and a birdie from the bunker on No. 6 in becoming the first qualifier to win on the senior tour since Jim Ahern in the 1999 AT & amp;T Canada Senior Open. Mason is the eighth qualifier to win a senior title.

Savoldelli claimscycling race
MILAN, Italy -- Paolo Savoldelli won the Giro d'Italia, maintaining a lead of nearly two minutes over American Tyler Hamilton through the final stage.
The 29-year-old Savoldelli, of the Index-Alexia team, claimed the pink jersey of overall leader from Australia's Cadel Evans on Thursday and defended it in a final attack by Hamilton in Saturday's time test at Monticello Brianza.
