Stroke survivors
"Living With Stroke," a class for stroke survivors and caregivers, is from 6:15-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital. Divided into four sections, the course covers causes and types of stroke, bowel and bladder care, nutrition, medications, caregiver needs and more. The class is free. Heart sessions
"Living With Heart Failure," a free outpatient class, consists of four one-hour sessions for those diagnosed with heart failure. Classes are from 3:30-4:30 p.m. each Tuesday in June in Conference Room C at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Sessions are "Understanding Heart Failure," "Dietary Guidelines," "Managing Medications" and "Activity Tolerance and Exercise."

Coping skills
"I Can Cope" is a six-session teleconference series, scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday, June 11, 13, 18 and 20. Participants can take part via phone from their homes. For information or to register, call the American Cancer Society at (888) 227-6446.
Grandparents class
A course to bring grandparents-to-be up to date on the latest birthing techniques and child rearing practices is set for 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 3 North Lounge at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Childbirth class
A one-day birthing class is set for 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday in Auditorium C of the Medical Education Building at Northside Medical Center. Cost is $50, which includes a lunch. Registration is required. Call (800) 842-9727.
Sitter program
A "Safe Sitter" program is scheduled for 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday and June 15 at the Community Learning Center at Beeghly Medical Center. Participants must attend both classes to get a certificate. The program teaches teen-agers how to handle emergencies. Students must be at least 11 years old. To register, call (330) 884-3710.
Yoga seminar
Dr. Shankardev Saraswati presents a four-hour program on "Awakening the Higher Mind" on Saturday. The program, set for 2-6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Medical Education Building at Northside Medical Center, focuses on the theory and practice of yoga and tantra as methods of releasing tension.
