DENVER -- Mark Chung scored the second of his two goals in the 76th minute to lead Colorado over Los Angeles. Carlos Valderrama tied the game for the Rapids (6-3-1) in the 67th minute, scoring his first goal in two years. Goalkeeper Scott Garlick stopped six shots and preserved Colorado's fourth win in its last five games with a sprawling save on a shot by Sasha Victorine in the final four minutes.

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Ariel Graziani scored two goals against his former teammates as San Jose beat New England. Graziani scored in the 23rd and 68th minutes to raise his season total to six. Richard Mulrooney assisted on both goals. New England (3-5-1) outshot San Jose 13-10 and had a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Dario Fabbro scored his second goal of the game in the 70th minute to give Kansas City (2-4-3) a tie with Dallas. Fabbro also tied the game 1-1, scoring on a penalty kick in the 54th minute. Jason Kreis and Joselita Vaca scored for Dallas (2-3-5).

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Boston's Kristine Lilly missed a penalty kick in the 32nd minute as the Breakers and Washington tied. The Breakers (2-3-3), playing their first game at CMGI Field, controlled the first half and outshot Washington 10-2. But they blew their best opportunity when Lilly fired over the crossbar on her penalty shot. The Breakers were awarded the penalty kick after Skylar Little tripped Dagny Mellgren in the box. The Freedom (2-4-2), who have scored eight goals in eight games this season, were shut out for the second consecutive game.

SAN DIEGO -- Homare Sawa scored her first goal of the season and added an assist to lead Atlanta to a victory over San Diego. Atlanta goalkeeper Brianna Scurry made three saves for her league-leading third shutout of the season. Sawa scored in the 74th minute and set up Charmaine Hooper's goal in the 21st minute.

VILLANOVA, Pa. -- San Jose goalkeeper LaKeysia Beene punched away a free kick attempt by Philadelphia's Jenny Benson from just beyond the penalty area in second-half stoppage time. Beene recorded her third shutout of the season for San Jose (3-3-2), tying her for the league lead with Atlanta's Briana Scurry. Melissa Moore had her second shutout for Philadelphia (5-1-1).

CARY, N.C. -- Unni Lehn and Birgit Prinz scored their first WUSA goals as Carolina beat New York. Danielle Fotopolous and Danielle Slayton added goals for Carolina (4-1-2), which had its largest margin of victory ever and matched the team records for goals in a game. Tiffeny Millbrett scored for New York (2-5-1).
