PENNSYLVANIA
Osprey killings probed
The Pennsylvania Game Commission is urging the public to help the agency acquire information leading to the arrest of those responsible for shooting two state-threatened ospreys in Perry County recently.
The first osprey was shot May 2 and the second on May 14. Both later died of their wounds.
Since shooting an osprey violates both state and federal law, the U.S. Fish & amp; Wildlife Service, joined the investigation.
The Game Commission's Turn-In-a-Poacher hotline offers a $100 reward for information that leads to the conviction of those responsible for killing the ospreys. Calls must be made on the TIP Hotline (800-PGC-8001) to be eligible for the reward. If you're not interested in a reward, but still want to get involved, call the Southcentral Region Office on its toll-free telephone line at 1-877-877-9107.
