BOWLING Spare Me wins city women's tourney
Theresa Florjancic captured the singles crown with a 753 score.
Spare Me rolled 2,678 to win the Youngstown Women's Bowling Association's 60th annual city tournament that ran May 3-11.
Spare Me comprised Donna Holmes, Beth Kobly, Kim Rogers, Eneida Duncan. Surprise was team actual winner with 2,629, and the score was good enough for a handicap division runnerup finish.
Marla Chicase, Michaelene Klug, Michele Mineo and Sue Mineo were Surprise members. Exhales was third with 2,552, followed by A-Plus Family Bowl (2,545) and Bombers (2,542).
A 753 score gave Theresa Florjancic the singles crown (handicap and actual), and she was also all-events champion with 2,051.
Sara Letscher and Linda Plume captured the doubles title with 1,386, followed by Fia Zaborsky-Traci Amatore (1,355), Sherri Skelton-Teri Haefke (1,333), Tammy Stewart-Stephanie Clossin (1,332) and Shirley Carson-Mary Weaver (1,323).
Just Us 3 of Cindi Mauch, Roseanne Winner and Jessica Hartzell won the 9-Pin No-Tap event's Division I with 2,220 while Vegas Bound of DeCinda Taylor, Pam Morrison and Barb Baker won the No-Tap's Division II with 2,252.
The team event was held at A-Plus Family Bowl while doubles and singles events were held at Boardman Lanes.
