Grammy expansion
Rappers and R & amp;B acts will have more chances to win Grammys next year, after The Recording Academy has voted to expand the categories to recognize the genres' growth.
Next year's Grammy awards, which return to New York after a four-year absence, will include a best contemporary R & amp;B album and a best urban/alternative performance for the first time.
It will also split the best rap solo vocal category into a best female rap solo vocal and best male rap solo vocal categories. The academy also created a search committee to find a new president, replacing Michael Greene.
