WARREN -- Catholic Charities Regional Agency received a grant of $5,763 from the For All Kids Foundation established by celebrity Rosie O'Donnell. The foundation provides financial support to nonprofit programs serving economically disadvantaged and at-risk children and their families. The grant will be used to buy classroom supplies and to repair and paint walls for the agency's KidSpace Child Care Center. The center, located at Sts. WARREN -- Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 125 N. Brockway Ave., will celebrate its 80th anniversary June 9 at Pioneer Pavilion at Mill Creek Park, Youngstown.
Mass for anniversaries
YOUNGSTOWN -- Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will celebrate a Mass at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St., to mark the wedding anniversaries of 181 couples who are being honored for a total of 8,190 years of marriage ranging from 25 to 67 years. James and Louise Nuth, parishioners at St. Christine Church, Youngstown, are observing their 67th wedding anniversary. After the service, a reception will be held in Cathedral Hall; St. Joseph the Provider, Campbell, is the host church.
Student presentation
YOUNGSTOWN -- Joie Petros, a student at St. John High School and organist for Mother of Sorrows Church, Ashtabula, will present an organ recital at 7 p.m. June 9 at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St. The free program will include works by Bach, Reger, Durufle, Franck and Vierne.
