COLUMBIANA -- A male robber took an undisclosed amount of cash from National City Bank on state Route 164 in Sparkle Plaza on Friday afternoon, police said.
The robber fled north on state Route 46 in a small blue-green car with a Pennsylvania registration, police said. The robbery occurred at 2:26 p.m. Police and the FBI did not offer any additional information Friday night.
Sports complex request
CANFIELD -- The township zoning appeal board will hear a request Monday for a permit to build a sports complex on state Route 46 near Western Reserve Road.
The complex is slated to include a baseball field, two lacrosse fields, two soccer fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, indoor golf simulators and an Olympic-size swimming pool. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the township hall.
The board is slated to hear two other cases at the meeting.
