CIO-NAP wins
YOUNGSTOWN -- Charles Jaminet pitched five-hit ball for four innings with an inning of relief from Jon Smart as CIO-NAP Builders beat DiCioccio, 20-5, in Class AA League action Thursday at Oakland Field.
Chico Sweregen had a double and four singles for CIO-NAP. Willie Sly had two of DiCioccio's hits.
Also in five innings, Pal Joey's/New Affair blanked Tri-County, 14-0, with Joe Marzano and Leskowski combining on a three-hitter. Marzano, Ty Thompson and Dom Yazbek had three hits apiece.

STRUTHERS -- Lencyk Masonry won the Valley Sports Cup Indoor Championship with a record of 27-2-1. The team scored held a 290-119 edge in scoring.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown Express baseball team will be at the Tod Children's Hospital Carnival at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The team will be selling game tickets with 50 percent of the proceeds going to the hospital.

AUSTINTOWN -- The Youngstown Women's Bowling Association's annual meeting is Sunday at Wedgewood Lanes at 1 p.m.
The agenda will consist of election of president and five directors and election of delegates to the 2003 OWBA state convention. Checks to winners of the 60th annual city tournament will be distributed and jackets to winners in the handicap division will be presented.
Mahoning teamwins tourney
CINCINNATI -- The Mahoning Valley Premier girls soccer team won the 17-and-under Gold division of the Queen City 2002 Memorial Day Tournament.
Kelly Croysdale scored three goals and Maggie Mills added two assists as MVP beat Arrow '84 4-1 in the championship match. Noelle Zalac has seven saves. Other team members include Stephanie Asch, Angela Cavalier, Nikki DelQuadri, Dana Donchess, Kate Gintert, Deanna Hinkle, Mary Newberry, Pam Prystash, Grazia Sorice and Mary Sutcliffe.
Aeros lose
AKRON -- Luis Garcia hit two home runs and drove in four runs, as the New Haven Ravens used a five-run eighth inning to beat the Akron Aeros 8-6 Friday night in the Eastern League.
Akron was ahead 4-2 when reliever Alex Herrera (0-1) relieved Aeros starter Billy Traber to pitch the eighth, but couldn't find the strike zone. He walked Covelli Crisp and Jason Bowers before Kevin Nicholson bunted for a single.
Jim Chamblee drove in two runs with a single and Garcia homered to left-center, his sixth homer of the season. He had homered to left in the fifth inning.
Traber was effective, giving up two runs, one earned, in his seven innings.
Bucs placeWilliams on DL
ST. LOUIS -- The Pittsburgh Pirates placed left-hander Dave Williams on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a torn labrum, and recalled right-hander Bronson Arroyo from Triple-A Nashville.
Williams is 2-5 with a 4.98 ERA in nine starts. He pitched 5 2-3 scoreless innings in his last start Monday against the Cubs, but is 0-4 since April 17.
