WARREN 2 $500 scholarships honor former school psychologist

WARREN -- The Sandra Gaddis Scholarship was established this past school year to honor the memory of the woman who worked for 30 years as an education and school psychologist for the Warren city schools.
Gaddis' colleagues contributed $1,000 for the one-time award that was offered to Warren G. Harding graduates seeking to further their education at a trade school, college, university or other institution of higher learning.
Two $500 scholarships were awarded to Tyechia Patterson and Lindsey Komora.
Tyechia graduated in June with a 3.78 grade point average. She'll attend Bowling Green State University in the fall, majoring in child psychology. She was a member of the National Honor Society and is an officer for the Warren Junior Military Band. She was a majorette and held second chair in the clarinet section of Harding's band.
Tyechia was a member of the drama club and participated in several plays. She dances competitively as a student at Krystie's Dance Academy and also has taught preschoolers tap dance, ballet and tumbling at Donna Crean D.C. Dancers.
Lindsey graduated in June with a 3.5 grade point average. She'll attend Ohio State University in the fall, majoring in pharmacy.
She participated on Harding's FIRST robotics team and was a member of the National Honor Society and Who's Who in American High Schools.
Lindsey was runner-up at the Hugh O'Brien Leadership Conference and won honors at the Tavis Smiley Foundations Youth 2 Leaders program.
She won the outstanding Sophomore Award and the National History and Government Award while at the high school.
