Boil order issued
NORTH JACKSON -- Area residents who live west of the Meander Reservoir, including all of North Jackson, are asked to boil tap water for cooking and drinking through at least noon Wednesday.
Crews working on a sewer line on the Mahoning Avenue end of the reservoir hit a water main Monday, and water service was shut off for several hours before being restored.
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency suggests boiling water for one minute.
Block watch meeting
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Buckeye Eyes and Ears Block Watch will meet at 6:30 p.m. today in Word of Grace Church, 2724 Mount Vernon Ave.
Block watch night out
YOUNGSTOWN -- The National Night Out program, an annual observance by local block watches, will be at 5 p.m. Aug. 6 in Homestead Park, Homestead and Dewey avenues.
The event will feature food, music and games. It's being promoted by Councilman John A. Nittoli, D-7th, and the Buckeye Eyes and Ears Block Watch.
Fund-raising dance
SHARON, Pa. -- Freddie Fresh's Club at 160 W. State St. will have a Back to the '50s Oldies Dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Aug. 6 to raise money for the Sharon Police Department's proposed K-9 unit. Admission is $5.
