AUSTINTOWN Mineral Ridge man alleges doorman beat him with bat

AUSTINTOWN -- A Mineral Ridge man who was charged Thursday with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct at a travel center told police he was beaten with an aluminum baseball bat Saturday night by a doorman at nearby Club 76 on Seventy-Six Drive.
Police reports indicate Ted Dodrill, 46, of Omalia Avenue, had swelling and bruises on his arm and back but do not say if he received medical treatment.
He told police that he was refused entry into the club by the doorman around 11 p.m. Saturday.
Dodrill said that when he asked to see a manager, the doorman said, "I'll manage this" and went into the club. The doorman came out with a baseball bat, Dodrill said.
Dodrill told police the doorman followed him into the parking lot and swung the bat at his head. He said he used his arm to block the bat.
Dodrill said the doorman then hit him in the lower back with the bat. He said he collapsed onto a car in the club parking lot.
Dodrill said the doorman asked him if he had enough and then walked back into the club.
The allegations were reported to police Sunday morning.
Thursday, Dodrill was arrested after putting his fist through a window at the travel center near the club. Reports state that Dodrill cursed at police after punching the window. He was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and criminal trespassing.
