YOUNGSTOWN -- The Butler Institute of American Art is offering education classes for docents, the volunteer tour guides, at the museum this fall.
Instruction begins Sept. 3 at 10 a.m. Classes are Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon from September through March.
Anyone interested in learning about art and willing to share time and knowledge with museum visitors is qualified.

A ride to the state fair
CANFIELD -- A bus run by the Mahoning County Farm Bureau will transport people to the Ohio State Fair in Columbus on Friday.
The bus will leave at 7:30 a.m. from the experimental farm parking lot at 7574 Columbiana/Canfield Road (state Route 46) and return around 12:30 a.m.
Seating is limited, and prepaid reservations are mandatory. Cost for the bus and fair admission is $20. Checks should be made payable to the Mahoning County Farm Bureau.

Registration deadlinesfor 2002 Canfield Fair
CANFIELD -- The deadline for entry registration forms and fees for the 2002 Canfield Fair is Aug. 10. This includes fine arts and amateur wine-making competitions, and home arts and crafts.
Only hay, grain, floral and vegetable categories have later entry dates.
Items for display at the fair should be taken to the designated building during entry days and times specified in the official premium list of the Mahoning County Agricultural Society.
Registration forms and fees should be hand delivered to the fair administration office or mailed to P.O. Box 250, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
