Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield is the event's main sponsor.
VOLANT, Pa. -- Camp Elliott, owned by Girl Scouts of Beaver and Lawrence Counties Inc., will welcome women to experience an eight-hour get-away in a natural setting and help raise money for the Girl Scouts.
Camping For A Cause will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 24 and cost participants $35 plus $195 in donations to the Girl Scouts. Participants may solicit the donations from other people before the event.
Activities such as therapeutic massages and facials are also planned to raise money for Girl Scouts. An assortment of indoor and outdoor activities to accommodate all abilities will be offered.
Camp Elliott has a swimming pool, basketball/ tennis court, sand volleyball court, archery range and plastic-disc golf course. There is a historical walking tour and nature trails on the property as well.
Every camper gets to enjoy these activities, but Camping For A Cause participants will experience a more varied program, which may also include a climbing wall, horseback riding, Reiki, Tai Chi, Feng Shui and games. All meals will be catered.
Registration
Participants may register for this event by submitting an event application form and the $35 fee. Forms are available at the council headquarters at 443 Third St., Beaver, via e-mail at jdavis@gsblc.org, or by calling (724) 774-3553 or (724) 658-9098.
