YOUNGSTOWN -- The marriage of Sharon Antonia Stringer and Ronald V. Shaklee, both of 2029 Burning Tree Lane, was solemnized by the Rev. David Leonard during a 2 p.m. ceremony June 15 at First Unitarian Church.
The couple left on a wedding trip to London after accepting congratulations during a reception at St. Mary Assumption Social Center.
The bride is a daughter of the late Arthur J. and Regina M. Stringer.
Parents of the groom are William E. and Rose M. Shaklee, 14901 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Oklahoma City, Okla.
The bride wore a princess-style, two-piece gown of chiffon crepe enhanced with beading and featuring a semicathedral train.
Forest-green gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Libby du Bray, and the bridesmaid, Katherine du Bray, both of Lakewood, Colo.
The groom's son, William Shaklee of Columbus, performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Larry Morrow of Fairfax, Va., and William Clarke of New Hartford, Conn.
The bride graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor's degree and earned her master's degree and doctorate at the University of Miami in Florida. She is a professor at Youngstown State University.
The groom, also a professor at YSU, served in the Army and is a Vietnam veteran. He earned a bachelor's degree, master's and doctorate at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan.
