Adoption service setsorientation sessions
WARREN -- Northeast Ohio Adoption Services invites singles or couples to attend an orientation session and free classes beginning the evening of July 30 in Parkman, if they are considering adopting an Ohio school-age child. The classes cover topics related to the needs of the children it serves.
In Ohio, more than 6,000 children are waiting for a permanent family, and NOAS does not charge fees for adoption. Adoptive parents can either rent or own their home, mobile home, condominium or apartment. There is no upper age limit, but parents need to be at least 21.
People who have never had children or who are already parents or grandparents can adopt.
The classes will be midway between the agency's Maple Heights and Warren offices in Parkman Community House, 16295 Main Market St., U.S. Route 422, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Aug. 3.
Call (800) 686-6627, Ext. 126, or use NOAS' Web site at www.noas.com to get more information or to sign up for classes. Founded in 1978, NOAS has found families for more than 900 children.
