CONTROLLED DEER, WATERFOWL HUNTS Ohio application information



Hunters wanting to participate this fall in special controlled deer and waterfowl hunts must submit their permit applications to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife by July 31.
Applications are available by calling the DOW at (800) WILDLIFE and from wildlife district offices located in Akron, Athens, Columbus, Findlay and Xenia or Ohiodnr.com
Controlled deer hunts are being held on select dates this fall and winter at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge in Lucas County, Lake Katharine State Nature Preserve in Jackson County and on portions of Mosquito Creek and Killdeer Plains state wildlife areas.
Controlled deer hunts for persons confined to wheelchairs are also being held at Killdeer Plains and the Ottawa refuge.
A special women's deer hunt will be held at Killdeer Plains State Wildlife Area in Wyandot County.
A non-refundable application fee of three dollars for each controlled hunt must be included with the application.
A special youth hunt will again be offered at Mosquito Creek and Killdeer Plains state wildlife areas and at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. Eligible hunters for these youth hunts must be age 17 and under and accompanied by a licensed non-hunting adult at least 18 years of age or older. There are no fees required to apply for the youth deer gun hunts.

Those who wish to participate in controlled waterfowl hunts must submit their applications prior to July 31. These hunts will be held on select dates at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, and on the Magee Marsh, Mosquito Creek and Mercer wildlife areas.
Special youth controlled waterfowl hunts are available for those age 15 and under.
A non-refundable application fee of $3 for each controlled waterfowl hunt must be included with adult and youth applications.
