Sept. 11 remembrance
YOUNGSTOWN -- The first anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks will be observed during a community memorial service at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at Congregation Rodef Sholom.
The service will be followed by a prayer and candlelight vigil at 8 p.m. at the flagpole in Wick Park. That portion of the event will be at the pavilion in case of rain. Seminar scheduled

Women's Day event
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Dorothy Kent, associate minister of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Sandusky, Ohio, will be the Women's Day speaker at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church. The service is at 10:45 p.m. July 28.
Dedication events
NILES -- Alpha & amp; Omega Ministries will have a dedication service at 11 a.m. July 28 at 305 Robbins Ave. The Rev. Donald R. Dixon of Atlanta will give the charge to senior pastor the Rev. Derrick D. Scott and the Rev. Jacqueline Hudson.
The Rev. Mr. Dixon will be honored at a service and dinner at 7 p.m. July 27 at the FOP banquet hall.
