Boy will face charges in carjacking

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Police filed a juvenile petition against a boy who was found driving a 1989 Pontiac Bonneville that was carjacked from its owner this week, said Police Chief Victor Cubellis.
The boy, whose age was not available, faces a charge of receiving stolen property. The car was taken about 5 a.m. Thursday from Lutton Street and Cunningham Avenue when three young men approached the driver at a stop sign and demanded money.
One of the young men appeared to have a shotgun and forced the driver out of the car. Cubellis said police discovered the car around 4:15 p.m. Thursday when someone called to report it was spinning around in a parking lot on Phelps Way.
Cubellis said the three juveniles ran from the car and were later caught by police. The investigation continues and the two other juveniles do not face charges at this time, Cubellis said.
