BABE RUTH BASEBALL Youngstown all-star teams ready for state tournaments



The 13- and 14-year-old teams will play in Newark, while the 15-year-old team will play in Zanesville.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Three all-star teams, representing the Youngstown Babe Ruth Baseball League, will be in state tournament play this weekend.
The Youngstown league swept the three state tournament championships last year for ages 13, 14 and 15, giving the league more than 30 state titles all-time.
The 15-year-old squad is managed by Mike Kopachy, who is assisted by Alan Stanley, Dave Pollack and Rod Hamilton.
The 15s will play Cincinnati in the first round of the tournament at Gant Stadium in Zanesville, Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Members of the team are Matt Bable (Astro Falcons), Justin Herberger (Belleria Pizza), Dan Balog (Commercial Neon), Jim Hlebak, John Warren, and Derek Baker (East Side Kiwanis); Grant Sevek, John Foty, Brian Daugherty and Andy Todor (Line Drive Academy); and Lou Kopachy, Dave Piersante, Josh McKenney, Tyler Stanley and Ryan Hamilton (Sluggers).
Other age bracket
The 14- and 13-year-old teams will play their state tournament games in Newark.
Jim Satterlee of Line Drive Academy will manage the 14s. His assistants are Bill D'Amico and Bob Iacobucci.
Members of the team are, from Line Drive, Ryan Satterlee, Jared Bartholomew, Marc Rossi, David Patrick, Brett Dutton, Mike Bartos, Chester Kirkwood and Jesse D'Amico; from East Side Kiwanis, Ben Leece, Kevin Sikora and Joe Iacobucci; from Sluggers, Adam Miller and Jim Gromada; Matt Ruble from Astro Falcons, and Dave Diyorio from Central Optical.
The manager of the 13s is Chuck Olenych; his assistant is Frank LaRubbio. Members of his team are Mike Olenych, Jesse Moses, Matt Katich, Clayton Ruminski, Frank Rosile, Chris LaCivita, Tony Brunetti, Mike Hoezel, Cory Collins, Evan Keneavy, Nick Turco, Matt Germanski, Matt Weir, Frank LaRubbio and Dan Ronci.
