LPGA NOTES From Squaw Creek

Qualifier here: The Giant Eagle LPGA Classic is one of two qualifiers for the LPGA Tour's final major event of the season, the Weetabix Women's British Open that's set for Aug. 8-11 in Ayrshire, Scotland. To be eligible for the qualifier, players must not only have entered the Giant Eagle event, but must have designated their desire to be in the qualifier and have entered the British Open before the July 9 deadline. The top five scores from the eligible players after 36 holes earn spots in the final major. So far, 122 players are exempt -- five from here and five from the Evian Ladies European Tour's Ladies Norwegian Open. The balance of the field will be filled by a Monday qualifier on site in Scotland on Aug. 5.
Trying to be eighth: Dorothy Delasin, the two-time defending champion of the Giant Eagle Classic, is trying to become only the seventh LPGA player to win the same event three straight times. Also on the list are Laura Davies (who won the Standard Register Ping event four times), Louise Suggs, Kathy Whitworth, Sandra Haynie, Annika Sorenstam and Karrie Webb.
Top money winners: Se Ri Pak, who stands third on the current LPGA Money List is the top money winner in this year's Giant Eagle LPGA Classic field. Pak has won almost $850,000, while the other players in this field among the top 10 money winners are Karrie Webb (6th), Rachel Teske (7th), Grace Park (8th) and Cristie Kerr (10).
