BROOKLANDVILLE, Md. -- Valerie Adele Knauff, daughter of Joyce S. Knauff, 6418 Oak Hill Drive, Eldersburg, Md., and Richard Gene Cataffa Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cataffa, 2 Sioux Trail, Girard, were married at 7 p.m. June 15 at The Castle at Maryvale, where a reception followed.
The ceremony was solemnized by the Rev. Lloyd Aiken.
After a honeymoon to St. Thomas, the couple are living at 9805 Sherwood Farm Road, Owings Mills, Md.
A strapless gown designed with a slim skirt and slight fishtail train was worn by the bride. The bodice was enhanced with light pink and green crystals.
Kate Wright of Sykesville, Md., was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Evelyn Harris of Owings Mills and Sherri Cataffa of Cleveland, the groom's sister. They wore black gowns. The bride's goddaughter, Emma Wright of Sykesville, was flower girl.
The duties of best man were performed by the groom's brother, Scott Cataffa of Oakland, Calif., and groomsmen were Jeffrey Cataffa of Charleston, S.C., his brother, and Warren Timlen of Baltimore. Tyler Knauff of Sykesville, the bride's nephew, was ring bearer.
Mrs. Cataffa is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in graphic design. Her husband holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Cincinnati.
The couple are employed at Development Design Group Inc. in Baltimore, where she is director of graphics and he is a design architect.
