The Whetstones are honored at brunch for 50th



BOARDMAN - Mr. and Mrs. R. Alvin Whetstone, 7052 West Blvd., were guests of honor during an open house and brunch June 29 to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
The honorees' children and spouses, John and Linda Robinson of Mansfield and Tim and Mary Lynn Whetstone of Columbus, were hosts of the event held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Youngstown.
The former Miriam Stacy and Mr. Whetstone exchanged marriage vows June 30, 1952, at Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima.
A registered nurse, Mrs. Whetstone retired in 1988. She worked at Forum Health North Side Medical Center and Little Forest Nursing Home. She graduated in 1951 from Robinwood Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo.
Mr. Whetstone retired in 1986 from LTV Corp., Youngstown, where he was the pension and payroll coordinator. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-46.
Mr. and Mrs. Whetstone are members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
The family circle includes five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
