ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands -- Magens Bay was the setting at 10 a.m. June 18 as Melinda Rae Green and John George DePietro Jr., both of 4865 Hopkins Road, Boardman, were united in marriage.
The couple exchanged nuptial vows in the presence of the Rev. Emmanuel Jaggernauth, and afterward they honeymooned during a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean.
A postnuptial reception was held in their honor July 13 at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church Hall, Youngstown.
They live at the Hopkins Road address.
The bride, a daughter of Gail Green, 5930 Stillson Place, Boardman, and Clifford Green, 191 Plymouth Drive, Boardman, wore a sleeveless white satin gown designed with a round neckline, lace bodice and a straight skirt that featured a sweep train. She completed her ensemble with a shoulder-length veil and carried a bouquet of stargazer lilies.
Parents of the groom are Jerilynn Baumgarten, 810 Southwestern Run, Boardman, and John DePietro, 40 Catherine St., Struthers.
The bride graduated from Ohio University at Athens with a bachelor's degree in education and earned a master's in education-school counseling at Kent State University. She is a school counselor at Boardman Center Middle School.
The groom, a fourth-grade teacher at Market Street Elementary School in Boardman, graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in education and a master's in education/reading.
