BOARDMAN -- The Rev. Jerry Hunt presided at 12:30 p.m. June 15 at the Christian Assembly of Youngstown for the wedding of Melanie E. Scharrer, 5440 King Graves Road, Vienna, and David J. Budz, 3923 Vira Road, Stow.
A reception was held at the Maronite Center, Youngstown, for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Scharrer of the Vienna address and the son of Arlene Budz and Joseph Budz, both of Hudson.
The couple live in Lockport, N.Y., since their return from a wedding cruise.
The bride's gown featured a beaded tank-style bodice, organza skirt and chapel train, and was enhanced with lace appliques.
Desert-indigo gowns were worn by the bride's cousins and honor attendants, Kathleen Myers and Alicia Ethen, and the bridesmaids, Lisa Scharrer, her sister-in-law; Staci Faubel; Danyell Fedina; and Emily Walsh, the groom's cousin. Flower girl was his cousin, Hannah Walsh.
Joe Budz was best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Chad Colucci; Jim Scharrer, the bride's brother; Gary Cox; John Sericko, a cousin of the groom; Jeff Alexander; and John Letterhos. Andrew Augustine, his cousin, was ring bearer.
The bride is employed in medical billing with Franklin Health Center in Warren and is attending Youngstown State University.
The groom graduated from Marietta College in Marietta with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and earned a master's in educational administration at the University of Akron. He is employed by the U.S. Department of Justice.
