Junior League plans event for breast-cancer survivors

LIBERTY -- The Junior League of Youngstown will hold a Pink Ribbon Tea to honor breast-cancer survivors at 1:30 p.m. July 22 at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex Centre.
Jane Hill, a comedienne who has survived breast cancer, will be the keynote speaker for the event.
Hill was featured in "Chicken Soup for the Surviving Soul" and was honored as a 1999 Circle of Life award winner at the national Komen Race for the Cure. Her "Keep Laughing to Keep Healthy" talk educates her audience about the healing power of humor.
The annual tea honors and encourages area women who are surviving, and launches local efforts to raise awareness of the Susan G. Komen Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure. This year's race will be held Sept. 28 in Cleveland.
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation advances research, education, screening and treatment of breast cancer.
