POLAND Gymnasts place at tournament



POLAND -- Ten gymnasts from Kathi's Dance and Gym Center recently competed in the USAIGC National Championship Meet in Orlando, Fla., after qualifying from the USAIGC Region 6 Championships in Cleveland.
There were four gymnasts from Level 5, two from Level 6 and four from Level 7 representing the local gym. The team is coached by Chad Cleland, Chris Bednarik and Brice Biggin.
In Level 5 competition, Julie Franko placed seventh on vault with a score of 9.25 and an overall score of 35.525.
Breanna Frank, Courtney Gratz and Bethany Trotter also competed in Level 5. Frank's all-around score was 36.25, Gratz finished the meet with a 35.375 and Trotter's score was 33.9.
Level 6
Competing for Level 6 were Roccsanne Minetti and Tricia Vallinger. Vallinger placed seventh on beam (9.375), seventh on bars (9.050), and seventh on floor (9.375). She finished with a score of 36.325 in the all-around competition. Minetti's all-around score was 34.55.
In Level 7 competition, Danielle Hennon placed second all-around with a score of 36.925. She also placed second on bars and vault, and sixth on beam. Mary Vallinger, Kacie Jaric and Teresa Pipak also competed for the Level 7 team. Vallinger scored 34.550, Jaric finished with a score of 35.500 and Pipak had an all-around score of 33.750.
"I'm very pleased with how the gymnasts performed for it being their first national meet," Cleland said. "There were quite a few personal bests."
