INSTALLATION Yo-Mah-O chapter seats new officers

The new president has belonged to the IAAP for 15 years.
BOARDMAN -- Barbara Sofranec was installed as president of the Yo-Mah-O Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals during a dinner meeting June 11 at the Holiday Inn.
Those inducted as her associate officers were Christine Simone, president-elect; Mary Lynn Pavone, recording secretary; Peggy Wilson, corresponding secretary; Lynn Romeo, treasurer; and Marlene Dailey, assistant treasurer.
Installing officer was Joan Giba, Ohio Division president, who was assisted by Mary Mislay Hake, chapter past president. Ruth Milligan gave the invocation.
Those who will serve as chairmen of committees for 2002-03 are Patricia Vallas, Administrative Professionals Week and Member of the Year; Miriam Nogel, attendance and courtesy and rules and bylaws; Andrea McConnaughy, audit; Milissa Ferraro, chapter bulletin; Pauline Hruby, community service; Judy Condik, certification; Joan Battagline, custodial and Executive Night; Mary Ella Kronstad, education; Peg Davis, publicity and scrapbook; Marilyn Caroll, retirement center; Bonnie Filipovich, scholarship; Laura Malloy, social; Laska and McConnaughy, ways and means; and Sharyn Fees, Web site.
New president
Sofranec holds an associate degree in secretarial studies and a bachelor's degree in computer information systems from Youngstown State University. She is an office assistant three for the Attorney General Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation Office. She achieved her certified professional secretary rating in 2000 and her certified administrative professional rating this year, and has served the chapter as recording secretary and as chairman of the membership and retirement committees. She also has served on various committees and has been honored as the organization's Member of the Year. She has been an IAAP member for 15 years.
