Summary of police activity:
LIBERTY
July 9
Warrant: Police arrested a 21-year-old Youngstown man on a charge of passing bad checks.
Bogus check: An employee at the Dollar General discount store, 3551 Belmont Ave., reported two women tried to purchase $180 worth of merchandise using a stolen check. Domestic violence: Police arrested a 23-year-old Youngstown man on a domestic violence charge after he allegedly choked his wife, bit her and threw her against a coffee table. The woman had a bite mark on her stomach, various bruises on her shoulder and complained of pain in her neck and jaw.
Theft: Someone entered a home under construction in the 3400 block of Denver Drive and took an air compressor, an air hose and a case of drywall nails.
Burglary: Someone cut the screen to a living room window and stole an undetermined amount of property from a residence in the 4200 block of Logan Gate Road.
GIRARD
July 8
Theft: Police arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile. He was accused of taking a bottle of soda from the Expresso Market, 143 E. Liberty St.
Theft: A woman in the 10 block of South Davis Street reported a male juvenile stole her grandson's bicycle. Breaking and entering: Someone broke a glass panel to a garage and kicked in a side door to gain access in the 200 block of Trumbull Avenue.
Criminal damaging: A van's driver's-side window was broken in the 500 block of East Prospect Street. Breaking and entering: Nothing was taken from a garage in the 100 block of Mosier Road after someone removed a board covering its doorway.
July 9
Vandalism: A garage's door lock was damaged in the 40 block of Shelby Street.
Criminal damaging: A key was used to damage a vehicle's paint on its driver's side in the 30 block of Ella Street.
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 20 block of LaSalle Avenue reported someone removed a window and damaged a lock to her garage.
Theft/vandalism: A woman in the 20 block of Shelby Street reported her car had been ransacked and that $21 was stolen from a wallet left inside the vehicle. Also, a resident reported that nothing was missing from his vehicle that was ransacked.
Auto theft: A 1994 GMC Jimmy was stolen in the 10 block of Shelby Street.
HUBBARD
July 3
Warrant: Police arrested a Youngstown woman on several charges of passing bad checks.
Attempted theft: A male juvenile tried to steal a bicycle from a bike rack in the 300 block of Hall Avenue.
Criminal damaging/breaking and entering: Police arrested two men after a woman said they broke into a vehicle at the Westview Heights apartment complex.
July 4
Theft: Someone left the Shell True North gas station, 204 W. Liberty St., without paying for $5 worth of gasoline.
July 5
Robbery: Two men robbed the West Coast Video store, 619 W. Liberty St.
July 6
Burglary: A woman in the 700 block of Taylor Street reported she saw a man run from her basement and that she discovered various clothing items disturbed.
July 8
Theft: Someone passed a bad check at the American Hardware, 42 N. Main St.
Auto theft: A 2001 Chevy Cavalier was stolen from an apartment complex in the 500 block of West Liberty Street.
