LIBERTY Police warrants charge man in parking-lot confrontation

Police said the Girard man drove his car over a woman, who remains in critical condition.
LIBERTY -- Police have filed warrants charging a Girard man with attempted murder and two counts of felonious assault.
Anthony Ciminero is accused of running down a woman in a field near the parking lot of the Giant Eagle store on Belmont Avenue.
Police Chief Anthony Slifka said Ciminero would be served with the warrants when he is released from Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
The 33-year-old investment broker was in stable condition at the hospital this morning with injuries that resulted from Tuesday evening's episode.
Police say he rammed his Dodge Durango into a Chevy Malibu occupied by Robert and Nancy Norman of Liberty.
Mrs. Norman, 43, remained in critical condition at St. Elizabeth Health Center today with a crushed pelvis, broken ribs and bruised internal organs.
After being rammed three times and pushed into the field by Ciminero, the Normans jumped out of their car, police said.
Mrs. Norman lay on the ground and Ciminero ran over her, police said.
Police said earlier there was no confrontation between Ciminero and the Normans before the attack and they aren't sure what prompted it.
Authorities also aren't aware of any previous criminal record for Ciminero.
