2 men face felony charges of vandalism and assault

BOARDMAN -- Two men face felony counts after appearing in Mahoning County Court here on charges that one vandalized a police car and another assaulted a township officer.
Robert L. DeVicchio, 38, of Melrose Avenue faces charges of felony vandalism and misdemeanor domestic violence and aggravated menacing. He has been released on $5,250 bail.
Edwin E. Marshall, 38, of Moyer Avenue in Youngstown, faces felony charges of obstruction of official business and assaulting a police officer and a misdemeanor resisting arrest. He is free on $8,000 bail.
Township police said they were called to DeVicchio's home about 9:30 p.m. Sunday after a child there called 911 to report that the man was trying to kill his wife, police reports show.
When officers arrived, the woman told police DeVicchio had assaulted her and a 15-year-old son.
When arrested and placed in a police car, DeVicchio threatened an officer and kicked out a cruiser window.
Marshall arrived at the home during the arrest, swearing at officers and assaulting one as he tried to keep them from placing DeVicchio in the cruiser, police said.
Officers used pepper spray on him during his arrest. Pretrials for both men are July 22.
