The schedule of events for the three-day celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the Beloit Volunteer Fire Department includes:
Friday
7 p.m.: Grand parade forms at West Branch High School and travels north down Main Street to Beloit Elementary School.
9 p.m. to 11 p.m.: Teen dance on Short Street near the village square.
Saturday
11 a.m.: Children's parade on Williams Street, starting at Henry's Drive In and going to Fire Station 1.
Noon till 2 p.m.: Children's games and exotic animal displays at Beloit Elementary School..
1 p.m.: Skydiving demonstration behind Beloit Elementary.
5 p.m.: Softball games between area fire departments at Ruritan Park.
5:30 p.m.: Old-fashioned box-lunch social on village square.
8:30 p.m.: '50's street dance on Short Street near the village square.
Sunday
10 a.m.: Community worship service and dedication at new fire station. Southern Gospel recording artist Lynn Swizinski will sing.
Noon: Car and tractor cruise-in on Park and Fairview streets.
12:30 p.m.: Med-Flight helicopter will land at Beloit Elementary School.
1 p.m.: Community picnic at Ruritan Park.
2:30 p.m:. Water battle between area fire departments at Ruritan Park.
4 p.m.: Closing ceremonies begin at Ruritan Park. Winners of the scavenger hunt and a gun raffle will be announced.
