SCRAPPERS Van Every hits 2 homers in win



The Scrappers are tied for first place after beating Jamestown.
JAMESTOWN, NY -- Jonathan Van Every hit two home runs to help the Mahoning Valley Scrappers defeat the Jamestown Jammers 10-2 in the New York-Penn League Monday.
Van Every has three homers on the season, one Sunday and Monday's pair, all against the Jammers.
Jeff Haase walked to lead off the top of the second inning and Bill Peavey doubled to right for a 1-0 advantage.
Van Every homered to left scoring Peavey for a 3-0 lead.
Haase walked to open the fourth inning and Peavey reached on an error. Van Every hit a three-run homer to right making it 6-1.
The Scrappers (12-9) moved into a tie for first place in the Pinckney Division with the decision. Auburn is also 12-9.
Bryce Uegawachi had three hits, one a double and Van Every had three hits and five RBIs.
