BOOKS The write stuff goes on sale at public library



Proceeds from an annual book sale will benefit programs not covered by the library budget.
YOUNGSTOWN --The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, Main Branch, at the corner of Wick and Rayen avenues will be the setting for an annual book sale to be conducted by the Friends of the Main Library.
A Preview Night for members only is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Non-members may attend the event for a donation of $5.
There is no admission charge for the public sale hours to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
A wide variety of books will be available for the reading public. Included will be new fiction, cookbooks, children's books and books covering specific topics such as history, health, the arts, and biographies in addition to mysteries and romances in both hard cover and paperback.
Prices will begin as low as 50 cents and higher prices will reflect the value of the book.
Proceeds from the annual sale will be used to acquire items for the Main Library that are not included in the budget. Benefiting from the event will be summer reading programs, the preservation of valuable documents, and the Lunch and Learn series of programs cosponsored by Youngstown State University Metro College.
