Jan. 23
Theft: A portable compact-disc player was reported stolen from a student's vehicle parked at the Mahoning County Career & amp; Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road. The passenger door to the vehicle was unlocked.
Missing: A 20-piece collection of uncirculated bicentennial coins and an antique comic-book collection of 190 books were reported missing from a storage area of a residence in the 500 block of Shadydale Drive.
Jan. 26
Breaking and entering: Several items were reported missing after a break-in through a back door at LifeTime Truck Products, 430 W. Main St. Items taken were an electrical drill, a cordless drill with charger and extra battery, electric grinders, 32 feet of draw ladder and an air compressor hose. An employee at a nearby store noticed the back door to the business open.

Jan. 20
Assault: An employee was assaulted by a customer stopped for possible shoplifting at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.
Vehicle theft: A 1999 Chevrolet Blazer was stolen from the residential 1600 block of Moorefield Avenue.
Forgery: A forged check for $235 was reported at Colla Market, 5528 Mahoning Ave.
Vehicle theft: A 2001 red Honda dirt bike was stolen from the residential 400 block of North Four Mile Run Road.
Theft: The rear Ohio license plates were stolen from a vehicle in the 4000 block of Mahoning Avenue.
Jan. 21
Arrest: Police arrested a woman and charged her with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The arrest occurred on Seventy-Six Drive.
Criminal damage: Intercom boxes were reported to have been damaged at Westchester Apartments, Westchester Drive.
Theft: Police arrested a 40-year-old man on a theft charge at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Police arrested a 25-year-old man on a theft charge at Kmart.
Theft: A girl's bicycle was stolen from the residential 300 block of Idlewood Road.
Jan. 22
Theft: A wallet was reported stolen at Phar-Mor, 4755 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A mirror was stolen from the drive-through area at Bank One, 4243 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: The door lock was pulled on an auto and a cell phone stolen in the residential 1700 block of South Raccoon Road.
Theft: An undetermined amount of clothing was stolen from J.C. Penney, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A woman stole tennis shoes from J.C. Penney.

Breaking and entering: The front window was broken out and a safe stolen at Pameco Corp., 1098 N. Meridian Road.
Criminal damage: A VHS tape mechanism was damaged at West Coast Video, 1502 S. Raccoon Road.
Jan. 24
Theft: Police arrested a man on an outstanding warrant at Mahoning Avenue and Lexington Drive. There also are criminal charges for theft pending against him.
Theft: Money was taken out of a resident's account at Gateways to Better Living, 1398 S. Canfield-Niles Road.
Theft: Someone broke in a home in the residential 500 block of South Raccoon Road and took a semiautomatic pistol.
Theft: Police issued a summons for the arrest of a 22-year-old woman after an occurrence at Wal-Mart.
Breaking and entering: A heater was stolen from a vehicle after someone went over the fence to gain entry at Argo Construction, 5752 W. Webb Road.
Theft: A man stole batteries at Sears Hardware, 6009 Mahoning Ave.
Jan. 25
Theft: A total of 70 to 80 gallons of diesel fuel was stolen along with an Ohio license plate from an auto at the Rebel Truck Lot, 5335 Seventy-Six Drive.
Breaking and entering: A fence was cut and material stolen from Argo Construction, 5752 W. Webb Road.
Fraud: A victim's phone number was changed and there was unauthorized activity on the victim's credit cards in the residential 5000 block of Cider Mill Crossing.
Breaking and entering: A shed was broken into and a 1937 Harley-Davidson motorcycle stolen along with lawn equipment in the residential 200 block of North Yorkshire Blvd.
Theft: A man is accused of taking $30 from a victim at Little Caesars, 1698 S. Raccoon Road.
Jan. 26
Criminal damage: Vehicle tires were cut on an auto at Sammy's, 1722 S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: Four lawn mowers were reported stolen in the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue.
Criminal damage: A vehicle's door was scratched and dented at Burger King, 5310 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Customers purchased $25 in food at Cracker Barrel Restaurant, 5600 Interstate Blvd., and left without paying.
Theft: A tailgate to a Chevrolet pickup truck was stolen at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.
Receiving stolen property: Police charged a man with receiving stolen property after he tried to cash a stolen check at Sheetz Gas Station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.
