COLUMBIANA CO. Unity, Salineville men face rape charges

The two cases are unrelated.
LISBON -- A Columbiana County grand jury has handed up sex-related charges against two men in unconnected cases.
Robert Clemmer, 30, of 1635 W. Main St., Unity Township, is charged with two counts of rape, each bearing an additional accusation that he used force to compel his victims to submit.
Authorities say Clemmer raped a boy and a girl between 1998 and June 2001.
The boy is now 8, and the girl is 9. Clemmer knew both victims, authorities say.
He faces a maximum life sentence for each of the two rape offenses, which are first-degree felonies.
Clemmer also is charged with 19 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, each of which carries a maximum two-year sentence.
The pandering charges, which are fourth-degree felonies, stem from authorities' accusations that Clemmer possessed child pornography that he had downloaded from the Internet.
Clemmer is being held in the county jail.
Salineville case: Donald Craig, 30, of 223-A McGavern Road, Salineville, is charged with raping a 32-year-old Salineville woman Dec. 16, 2001, at her home. Craig knew the woman, authorities say.
He faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, if convicted of the first-degree felony.
Craig was released on bond from the county jail Tuesday afternoon.
