Hermitage woman dies after crash

BROOKFIELD -- A 71-year-old Hermitage, Pa., woman died in Sharon Regional Health System hospital Sunday after a head-on car crash on Standard Road, just west of U.S. Route 62 here.
The Southington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that Yvonne Edwards was a front-seat passenger in a westbound 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by Margaret Snyder, 74, of Masury, who was listed in fair condition this morning in Sharon Regional.
The Cutlass was struck head-on by a 1995 Toyota Camry driven by Catherine Settlemine, 41, of Hermitage at 7:20 p.m. Saturday.
The patrol said Settlemine's car crossed the median. The Brookfield rescue squad treated her at the scene for minor injuries.
The patrol said results of a breath alcohol test performed on Settlemine show she was over the legal limit. Charges are pending.
