Robber hits Bank One
LIBERTY -- A man brandishing a handgun robbed Bank One, 3999 Belmont Ave., just before 10 a.m. Saturday.
According to police, the gunman entered the bank at 9:53 a.m. and demanded money. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, some of which may be stained red.
No one was injured in the robbery.
The robber is described as a black male in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and thin. He was wearing a tan baseball cap and black leather jacket, had a thin mustache and was carrying a black book bag.

Sale of beer to teen
YOUNGSTOWN -- A 46-year-old clerk at the South Avenue Gas Mart was arrested in the sale of beer to a minor after a police sting, police reports show.
A 19-year-old cooperating witness was sent into the South Side store by city police at about 7:15 p.m. Friday.
After spending about three minutes in the store, the teen emerged with a 16-ounce can of beer.
Reports show the sting took place after the department had received numerous complaints that workers at the 2325 South Ave. store sold alcohol to minors.
Suspect in theft
YOUNGSTOWN -- City police arrested a 31-year-old South Side man at the WRTA bus station on Federal Plaza West after he was accused of armed robbery.
A 24-year-old North Side man told police the suspect had offered him a ride at the nearby NABI Biomedical Center on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at about 10 a.m. Friday.
He accepted, entered the car and asked the driver if he had change for a $10 bill.
The driver took the bill and pulled a 9mm semiautomatic handgun from under his seat, aiming it at his passenger.
The passenger left the car and told the driver he would shoot him if he didn't get his money back.
In response, the driver popped his trunk, saying he had a larger gun there and would "shoot everything up," police reports show.
The driver, of Brentwood Avenue, was identified by the victim at the WRTA station about two hours later and detained by a deputy there until city police arrived.
'Heart Hero' event set
LIBERTY -- In celebration of National Heart Month, the Heart & amp; Vascular Center at St. Elizabeth Medical Center will offer "Be a Heart Hero" from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex.
The event, open to the public, will begin with blood pressure and cholesterol screenings and cardiac risk assessments, followed by a heart-healthy buffet dinner and dessert.
After dinner, Dr. Paul Stefek of Diagnostic Cardiology Associates will present "Am I Having a Heart Attack or Is It the Chili?" A panel discussion will follow.
The cost of the program is $10. The deadline for registration, which is required, is Wednesday.
