No. 3 Stanford 62, Arizona St 48
STANFORD, Calif. -- With everyone except Lindsey Yamasaki struggling on offense, Stanford turned to defense.
Yamasaki scored 23 of her season-high 27 points in the first half as Stanford won its 12th straight game. "I was just trying to take what they threw at me," Yamasaki said. "When I'm playing against bigger people, sometimes it's easier to get my penetration going and use my agility." Nicole Powell added 13 points as Stanford (20-1, 10-0 Pac-10) beat the second-place Sun Devils at home for the 18th consecutive time. The Cardinal have been held to fewer than 62 points just once this season.
Betsy Boardman scored 15 points to lead the Sun Devils (16-6, 7-4), who lost for the first time in 16 games when allowing 67 points or less.
No. 14 Iowa St. 82, Nebraska 71
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Angie Welle became Iowa State's all-time leading scorer, getting 18 points as the Cyclones pulled away from Nebraska. Welle, a 6-foot-4 senior, now has 1,868 points, moving her past Megan Taylor's record of 1,866.
Welle played just seven minutes in the first half because of foul trouble. She scored 16 points in the second half and was too much for Nebraska inside, leading the Cyclones (15-5, 3-5 Big 12) to a sweep in the season series for the third straight year.
Tracy Gahan had 23 points and Lindsey Wilson scored 20 for Iowa State, which shot 14-for-32 from 3-point range. The Cyclones were 7-for-11 from beyond the arc in the second half as they broke away from a halftime tie at 36.
Keasha Cannon scored 22 to lead Nebraska (12-8, 2-5), which shot 14-for-27 in the first half but just 12-for-37 in the second.
Katie Robinette scored 11 and Shannon Howell finished with 10 points for the Huskers, who last beat Iowa State in February 1999.
No. 15 Baylor 80, No. 13 Texas 70
AUSTIN, Texas -- Sheila Lambert scored 26 points, including a key 3-pointer with just over a minute left to lead Baylor to an 80-70 victory over Texas.
Baylor (16-3, 4-3) moved over .500 in the Big 12 conference for the first time this season.
Kala Bowers led Texas (14-4, 6-2) with 18 points. Lambert had 18 points, including 10 of her team's first 13, as the Bears took a 42-33 lead into halftime.
The Bears stretched the lead to 56-42 with 14:56 left before Bowers fueled a Texas rally. The freshman scored eight straight points as the Longhorns drew to 71-70 on Stacy Stephens' putback off a missed free throw.
