No. 1 Connecticut 79, Boston College 56
STORRS, Conn. -- Sue Bird had 23 points and Asjha Jones matched her career high with 21 points to lead top-ranked Connecticut.
The pair helped UConn (22-0, 8-0 Big East) recover from one of its worst shooting halves of the season. The Huskies shot 38 percent from the floor on 12-of-31 shooting and held an eight-point lead at the break.
Jones scored nine points in the Huskies' 18-6 run to open the second half and UConn cruised the rest of the way. Bird had four points in the spurt, including a layup off her own steal. UConn led by as much as 26 down the stretch.
The Huskies dominated inside with a 43-37 rebounding edge over the Eagles (15-4, 6-2). Jones led the Huskies with 13 rebounds had three of UConn's nine blocks.
UConn leads the series 30-12, and has lost just twice to BC in the last 12 years.
No. 3 Stanford 62, Arizona St 48
STANFORD, Calif. -- With everyone except Lindsey Yamasaki struggling on offense, Stanford turned to defense.
Yamasaki scored 23 of her season-high 27 points in the first half as Stanford won its 12th straight game.
Nicole Powell added 13 points as Stanford (20-1, 10-0 Pac-10) beat the second-place Sun Devils at home for the 18th consecutive time. The Cardinal have been held to fewer than 62 points just once this season.
Betsy Boardman scored 15 points to lead the Sun Devils (16-6, 7-4).
Amanda Levens, Arizona State's leading scorer at 18.8, was held to a season-low six points on 1-of-14 shooting, including 0-for-7 from long range. Levens has been slowed by a left ankle sprain sustained in a game against Washington on Jan. 10.
The Sun Devils were held to a season-low 26.3 percent.
No. 8 Louisiana Tech 88, Rice 43
RUSTON, La. -- Amber Obaze scored 20 points and Cheryl Ford had 12 points and eight rebounds as No. 8 Louisiana Tech beat Rice 88-42 Saturday night. Tech (14-3, 9-0 Western Athletic Conference) shot 53 percent in the first half while holding Rice (13-5, 7-2) to 17 percent. Tech led 46-13 at the break. The Lady Techsters shot 56 percent in the game and outrebound the Owls 48-31.
No. 14 Iowa St. 82, Nebraska 71
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Angie Welle became Iowa State's all-time leading scorer, getting 18 points as the Cyclones pulled away from Nebraska.
Welle, a 6-foot-4 senior, now has 1,868 points, moving her past Megan Taylor's record of 1,866.
Welle played just seven minutes in the first half because of foul trouble. She scored 16 points in the second half and was too much for Nebraska inside, leading the Cyclones (15-5, 3-5 Big 12) to a sweep in the season series for the third straight year.
Tracy Gahan had 23 points and Lindsey Wilson scored 20 for Iowa State, which shot 14-for-32 from 3-point range. The Cyclones were 7-for-11 from beyond the arc in the second half as they broke away from a halftime tie at 36.
Keasha Cannon scored 22 to lead Nebraska (12-8, 2-5), which shot 14-for-27 in the first half but just 12-for-37 in the second.
No. 15 Baylor 80, No. 13 Texas 70
AUSTIN, Texas -- Sheila Lambert scored 26 points, including a key 3-pointer with just over a minute left to lead Baylor to an 80-70 victory over Texas.
Baylor (16-3, 4-3) moved over .500 in the Big 12 conference for the first time this season.
Kala Bowers led Texas (14-4, 6-2) with 18 points.
Notre Dame 64, No. 16 Virginia Tech 57
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Jacqueline Batteast scored 26 points and Alicia Ratay added 22 as they scored all but two of Notre Dame's second-half points and the Irish extended their home win streak to 47 games.
No. 20 Colorado 78, Missouri 56
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Jenny Roulier scored 23 points and Tera Bjorklund added 17 as No. 20 Colorado beat Missouri 78-56 Saturday night. Roulier scored 14 points in the game's first six minutes and had 19 in the first half on 8-for-14 shooting. She had six assists. Mandy Nightingale added 14 points for Colorado (15-6, 5-3 Big 12).
