NEW YORK -- Radek Dvorak had two goals, and Eric Lindros and Theo Fleury both scored their 20th of the season to lead the New York Rangers past the Washington Capitals. Sandy McCarthy and Bryan Berard also scored for the Rangers, who have won three straight after an eight-game winless streak. Dainius Zubrus, back in the lineup after missing one game with a bruised foot, netted two goals, and Brendan Witt had the other for Washington, which lost for the fifth time in six games. McCarthy and Dvorak staked the Rangers to a 2-0 lead in the first period.
Senators 1, Canadiens 1
MONTREAL -- Daniel Alfredsson scored with 2:59 left to lift the Ottawa Senators to a tie with the Montreal Canadiens in a game marked by strong goaltending. Alfredsson jumped on a rebound of Wade Redden's shot off goalie Jose Theodore's pads and sent the puck into an open right side for his team-leading 24th goal. Richard Zednik gave the Canadiens a 1-0 lead with his 14th goal early in the period.
Avalanche 4, Kings 2
LOS ANGELES -- Milan Hejduk and Chris Drury each scored twice as the Avalanche beat the Los Angeles Kings to extend Colorado's winning streak to six games. The Avalanche connected three times against the NHL's top penalty-killing unit. Drury also had an assist for the defending Stanley Cup champs, whose winning streak is their longest since a seven-game stretch last January.
Wild 2, Devils 2
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Martin Brodeur made 34 saves, including two in overtime, as the New Jersey Devils skated to a tie with the Minnesota Wild in a physical game. With Minnesota on the power play late in the third period, Brodeur held off a flurry of shots to help preserve the tie as both teams ended losing streaks. Pascal Dupuis nearly had the game-winner for Minnesota with about 2:15 left in regulation, but his shot hit the crossbar.
Red Wings 5, Blues 2
ST. LOUIS -- Brett Hull scored three goals and added two assists, leading the Detroit Red Wings to victory over the St. Louis Blues. Pavel Datsyuk and Boyd Devereaux each scored a goal and two assists for the Red Wings, who are 4-0-1 in their last five games. Detroit outshot St. Louis 32-31. It was the second consecutive loss for the Blues, who had won their previous 10 games in a row.
Oilers 4, Maple Leafs 1
EDMONTON, Alberta -- Mike Comrie scored twice, including the go-ahead goal midway through the third period, as the Edmonton Oilers ended a three-game losing streak with a win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ethan Moreau and Todd Marchant also scored for the Oilers. Bryan McCabe scored for Toronto, which has lost two in a row and is 1-4-0-1 in its last six. McCabe opened the scoring at 17:31 of the first period.
Flyers 4, Hurricanes 2
PHILADELPHIA -- Jeremy Roenick and Justin Williams scored 38 seconds apart in the first period as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes to snap a three-game winless streak. Mark Recchi and Simon Gagne also scored for the Flyers, who are unbeaten in 16 games (15-0-1) against Southeast Division teams. Philadelphia had been 0-2-1 in its previous three games after winning eight straight before that. Brian Boucher made 16 saves for Philadelphia.
Islanders 6, Lightning 2
UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Mariusz Czerkawski and Claude Lapointe each had a pair of goals as the New York Islanders snapped a four-game home losing streak with a victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Mats Lindgren and Michael Peca also scored for the Islanders. Chris Osgood, who missed the last two games with tendinitis in his right wrist, stopped 23 shots for his 19th win this season. The four-goal win represented New York's largest margin of victory at home this season.
Bruins 4, Panthers 2
BOSTON -- Joe Thornton scored his 99th and 100th career goals in the third period to give the Bruins a victory over the Florida Panthers, spoiling Mike Keenan's return to Boston. With the goals, Thornton passed Calgary's Jarome Iginla for the NHL scoring lead with 55 points. The Flames played later Saturday night. Thornton, who has 21 goals on the season, also became the fourth member of the Bruins with 20 or more goals; no other team has more than two. Martin Lapointe and Mike Knuble also scored for Boston, and Byron Dafoe stopped 20 shots to help the Bruins snap a four-game losing streak.
Mighty Ducks 3, Predators 1
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Matt Cullen scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period as the Anaheim Mighty Ducks beat Nashville for their third straight victory. Mike Leclerc sealed the victory with a goal at 13:57 of the third. Cullen pushed a rebound past the left leg of Predators goaltender Mike Dunham at 17:53 of the second for a 2-1 lead. The Mighty Ducks have beaten Minnesota, Dallas and Nashville in salvaging what had been a dismal January. Anaheim now is 4-10-1 over the last 14 games. Goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 18 shots for his third straight victory.
