Wellsville man pleads guilty to 53 charges

LISBON -- A Wellsville man faces a maximum prison sentence of more than 275 years after pleading guilty to 53 sex-related charges involving juveniles.
Robert Gregg Jr., 47, of 324 Broadway, appeared Friday before Judge David Tobin of Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.
Gregg's plea was part of an agreement with prosecutors in which they are recommending a 30-year sentence.
Judge Tobin accepted Gregg's guilty plea and set sentencing for March 8. Gregg is being held in the county jail.
He is charged with 42 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, nine counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, and two counts of rape.
Authorities say Gregg had pornographic photographs of a girl he knew and raped her in 1997 and again in June 2001, when she was 13.
He also is accused of having pornographic photographs of two other girls younger than 13, both of whom he knew, and of downloading child pornography from the Internet.
