HOPE, Ark. -- The Champion Arkansas auto parts plant will expand, resulting in about 100 new jobs for the area, but the expansion is linked to the company's closing of a plant in Beech Creek, Pa. Champion chief executive Jerry Bragiel said it will take up to 18 months to integrate the Pennsylvania operation into the plant here.
Champion moved its headquarters from Chicago to Hope in 1999. The company re-manufactures a variety of auto parts, including wiper motors, alternators, starters, generators, distributors, power steering gears, carburetors and CV axles.
