BEAVER, PA. Man faces charges of luring girl over Net

The suspect and victim communicated by Internet and phone before meeting, police said.
BEAVER, Pa. -- A 29-year-old Ellwood City man is in Beaver County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond on several charges after Pennsylvania State Police said he made sexually suggestive comments to a 12-year-old girl.
Michael J. Stramella of Park Avenue is charged with a criminal attempt at involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, luring a child into a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a communication facility, and unlawful contact or communication with a minor.
The investigation began when the victim's mother was using her computer earlier this month and found records of what she said were inappropriate communications between Stramella and her daughter.
Chatting: The investigation disclosed that Stramella and the girl initially made contact on an Internet chat service in July 2001, state police said. As they became acquainted, Stramella offered her his cellular phone number, and they engaged in telephone conversations during the fall, eventually meeting after school Dec. 10 in the Freedom High School parking lot in the borough of Freedom in New Sewickley Township, police said.
Stramella and the girl continued to have contact until the girl's mother discovered the relationship.
Arrest: On Thursday, the girl telephoned Stramella at the direction of state police and arranged another meeting with him. During that conversation, he specified a sexual act he wanted her to perform, police said. Stramella was arrested when he appeared at the arranged meeting place and was arraigned and jailed, police said.
