GIRLS ROUNDUP Boardman belts Harding

Maplewood kept the top spot in the East Suburban Conference.
WARREN -- Playing tough defense, the Boardman High girls basketball team upended Warren Harding 69-28 Thursday in a Steel Valley Conference game.
The Spartans' (13-1, 6-0 SVC) defense limited the Raiders (5-9, 1-5) to five points in the first quarter, nine in the second, eight in the third and six in the fourth.
Amber Bland sparked Boardman with 24 points and Brittany Durkin added 14. She connected on four baskets from 3-point range.
Sharina Freeman led the Raiders with nine points.
Maplewood 48, Lordstown 31: LORDSTOWN -- Maplewood kept the top spot in the East Suburban Conference.
Christine Clemson took scoring honors for the Rockets (10-6, 9-1) with 20 points and Jen Flickinger added 12.
Courtney Pelyak led the Red Devils (4-9, 4-7) with nine points. Natalie Bailey grabbed six rebounds and had three steals.
Lisbon 46, Columbiana 32: COLUMBIANA -- The Blue Devils (9-4, 4-3 Tri-County League), leading by a point at intermission, pulled away with a 13-5 third-quarter surge.
Dena Huckshold paced the Blue Devils with 13 points. Tina Huckshold and Kristen Dilullo each added 10. Stevie Goist paced the Clippers (5-8, 3-4) with 10.
Leetonia 61, Crestview 44: LEETONIA -- Jessica Deville scored 20 points and grabbed 16 of the team's 39 rebounds to lead the Bears (11-3, 7-1 TCL). Jackie Durham and Marcie Mancuso added 14 and 11 points, respectively. Bri Duko had four steals and three assists.
East Palestine 45, Sebring 29: SEBRING -- Ashley Martin scored 18 points and she and Stephanie Jeffers each had nine rebounds for the Bulldogs (9-4, 5-2 TCL).
East Palestine has won six of its last seven games.
Kim Brunie scored 15 points for the Trojans (3-11, 1-7).
Champion 60, Brookfield 50: BROOKFIELD -- Behind 25-21 at halftime, Champion (8-4, 7-4 Trumbull Athletic Conference) out-scored Brookfield (5-9, 3-8) in the third quarter 22-7.
Brianne Konchunas paced the Golden Flashes with 20 points, getting 11 of them in the third period.
Jessica Wood chipped in with 12 and she grabbed nine rebounds. Jesse Carpenter finished with 11 points.
Holly DeMay, who connected on three 3-pointers, led the Warriors with 13 points. Jen Ford finished with 10.
